The 2nd Annual Gold Coast Caravan & Camping Expo will be held at Metricon Stadium again in 2016.

The Expo will feature over one hundred exhibitors displaying all the latest products and services the Caravanning Industry has to offer – caravans, motorhomes, campervans, camper/tent trailers and slide-ons. There will also be a large range of camping accessories for your next caravanning or camping holiday adventure.

PLEASE NOTE: There is only one exhibitor with a limited range of TENTS on display at this event. There are however a large number of exhibitors displaying tent trailers, camper trailers, roof top tents and more.

Travel and holiday destination information will also be on display and we are introducing a seminar program which will include subjects such as towing, preparing for your trip, solar products and much, much more.

And, the ever popular CAST IRON BOYS will be back with their Campfire Cooking Stage!

Ross Street Road Closure

Following advice from the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Metricon Stadium wishes to advise customers attending the Gold Coast Caravan & Camping Expo that the Ross Street roundabout and some surrounding roads will be closed from 10pm Friday 4 March to 5am Monday 7 March to all vehicles.

This road closure is unrelated to the event however is expected to impact customers travel to and from the event over the weekend. As such, we recommend planning your journey in advance and allowing additional travel time.

Parking Options

Paid parking will be available for customers in the stadium’s Red, Yellow & Blue Car Parks for this event.

Parking will be charged at $5.00 per vehicle per day.

In addition to the parking located at Metricon Stadium, local private parking operators will also be offering paid parking for Caravan & Camping Expo customers. Please note that these options are run separately to Metricon Stadium and as such prices and parking availability may vary without notice.

– Nerang Train Station
– Dream Centre Christian Church – Cnr Chisholm Road & Nerang-Broadbeach Road, Carrara
– Islamic School – Chisholm Road, Carrara

A shuttle bus will also run between these locations and Metricon Stadium to transport customers to and from the site.

Public Transport Options

By Train

The nearest train station to Metricon Stadium is Nerang Station.  A bus service is usually available from this station and usually runs in line with the trains.  Take the 745 bus and get off at Riverside Home Park, which is the closest bus stop to Metricon Stadium. It is a 700m walk from this bus stop. We suggest you check with Translink before travelling. www.translink.com.au 

By Bus

There are regular bus services from most areas of the Gold Coast. Route number 745 travels directly past Metricon Stadium.  For details on Surfside Bus routes that access Metricon Stadium on non-event days please visit www.translink.com.au or contact TransLink on 13 12 30 anytime.

The Lounge Bistro

The Lounge on Level 2 will operate as a public bistro and bar for customers attending the Gold Coast Caravan & Camping Expo. The area is air conditioned and offers a relaxed setting for customers to enjoy during the event. The Lounge Bistro will operate from 10.30am – 3.00pm daily and is accessed by the staircase near the GC SUNS Shop or the lifts in the corporate foyer (Ramp/Stair Q).

– Braised Irish lamb pie w thick cut wedges

Seminar Program


Hayman Reese Technical Towing Expert, Gary Gardiner, will offer information and advice on how to make your towing experience safer and more enjoyable.

Gary has been involved in your industry for over 16 years and with all of his experience with towing and towing related systems like Weight Distribution, Sway controllers and Brake Controllers his expert knowledge is sure to help and guide you on how to stay safe and feel more comfortable on the road.

Gary will be conducting two seminars each day based on the following important topics:

Weight Distribution
Gary will discuss the safety benefits of using weight distribution.  What the system is actually doing as well as how to choose the right size and style of system for your needs. Plenty of time will be given for questiosn as this is all about you and what you need.

Hot Topics
During this session Gary will discuss a whole range of hot topics including brake controllers, D Shackles and towing ratings.  This seminar will be all about what you need or want to know so make sure you come prepared with questions.


Spida Everitt
